Sick And Tired

Blah, I don't feel well.

Today is Saturday. Thursday my allergies were acting up and I went to sleep feeling horrible. I didn't sleep very well and woke up feeling even worse. I had to work at 1:30 and was planning on going home around 5:00, after another cashier came in. Unfortunately, the other cashier that was scheduled was having a family emergency and his grandfather was in the hospital. It was a slow day though, so it really wasn't too bad. The store manger's wife came in and cashiered for a little bit, which allowed me to take a lunch. I scarfed a chicken sandwhich and then spent the remaining twenty minutes laying down in my car.

After lunch, she went home and I had to close the store by myself. THe closing manager was Heather, who actually was supposed to have the day off. On top of that, she apprently had plans with Barb, but was gracious enough to come in anyway. On hearing this, I'm glad that I didn't call in. Like I said, it really wasn't that busy and I would have felt even worse had I stuck Heather in that situation when she wasn't even supposed to be there. Coincidentally, she was called in because the manager that was supposed to be there, was sick with strep. Uhg, it sounds like it's been going around lately.

On Friday Erin got her camera as I was leaving for work, a digital EOS Rebel XT from Canon. With the camera she also got a lot of goodies: a tripod, a hard case, a soft case, a plethora of lenses (with an appropriately large number of caps), a media reader, and some other things I believe. She was only showing me the camera for a few minutes and let me fire off some shots of her cat, Cookie, and already I was blown away. It's an amazing camera and I'm sure neither of us really know the full potential of this thing yet. I'm used to bumbling around with a 2.0MP Kodak from Wal-Mart, and this thing is in a completely different class- definitely not a camera for casual photographers. I convinced her to try to take a photo a day and post them to her site, mindboggles.net, so there you will be able to see samples of the quality of her camera.

Today I don't really feel much better and I have to work a ten-hour shift. Uhg, it's going to be a long day.
